Welcome to Alvenda, Inc. (“Alvenda”). All references to “Alvenda”, “we” or “us” in this Privacy Policy shall refer only to Alvenda, Inc.

At Alvenda, privacy and information security are top priorities. We provide this Privacy Policy to outline our policies, practices and procedures with respect to personally identifiable information (PII) collection and use to enable you to make an informed decision about sharing information with us. Alvenda is a performance marketing company, and we may deliver and/or work with merchandise offers and storefronts delivered to the websites you visit or via other marketing channels. We do not collect any PII directly through this Alvenda website.

Information we collect

Personally Identifiable Information

We do not request any personally identifiable information here on the Alvenda website for any customer purchases, or as a condition of visiting this website. If website visitors choose to contact us for any reason, then we will receive the personally identifiable information provided to us, at the choice of the individual, and will keep it only as long as necessary to answer any questions and to comply with applicable laws and audit requirements.

We collect specific types of personally identifiable information through the Alvenda Online Storefronts at the direction of our merchant clients for whom we are providing online shopping capabilities. The information collected is that which the merchant clients indicate are necessary to process online orders through the storefronts.

We retain credit card numbers only as long as necessary to validate the card number and submit the purchase to the appropriate merchant. Credit card numbers are then immediately deleted from Alvenda systems.

We retain other types of personally identifiable information collected through the Alvenda Online Storefronts as long as necessary to verify the purchases with the merchant clients, and to fulfill applicable legal and contractual requirements for such records retention to allow for audits and accounting reviews.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information

As part of our on-going efforts to ensure the best possible experience for all recipients of Alvenda merchandise offers, we may use log files, web beacons and cookies (defined below) to collect and store data that does not include personally identifiable information from browsers, advertiser and third party sites (“Sites”) to aggregate Information. The Information collected enables us to determine which merchandise offers perform well, allows us to more effectively match merchandise offers and website content to consumer interests, if necessary, assists us in improving the operation of our services, helps us to maintain the quality of our services, enhances our services to our business partners and clients and enables us to provide general statistics to our business partners and clients regarding use of Alvenda’s services.

Log files” store tracked actions occurring on Sites and collect data including your IP address, browser type, referring url, request url, user agent, browser accept language, platform type, and date/time stamp (for clicks and sales/leads only), which make up click, impression, and sales/lead data, merchandise offers viewed, and any other data that comes from interaction with Alvenda’s network.

Web beacons” are pixels used to track your navigation of a website or collection of sites, the completion of transactions, submittal of applications and browsing behavior.

Cookies” are files (e.g. flash browser objects or http header) that are stored on your web-enabled client (such as your web browser). There are many misconceptions about Cookies, some of which we will try to address in this policy. Cookies cannot erase your hard drive or otherwise damage your computer and do not tell us an e-mail address or any other personally identifiable information. Alvenda does not and cannot use Cookies or web beacons to retrieve personally identifiable information from your computer. Cookies are used to improve the experience web users have when they see merchandise offers. When a consumer responds to or views an Internet advertisement served by Alvenda (such as through third-party websites or email solicitation) or visits an Alvenda Network site, we send a Cookie and/or gif file to assign an anonymous, unique identifier to the end user’s Internet browser. One function of these Cookies is to provide Alvenda with information for the purpose of paying third-parties commissions when an Internet user clicks on a link, creates a lead, or makes a purchase on an advertiser’s website. If the Internet user re-visits the advertiser’s site directly, Alvenda is able to continue to track the user’s activities (excluding personally identifiable information) on the advertiser’s site and reward the third-party website that referred the user. We may use Cookies to estimate the total reach of an advertising campaign, as well as frequency of display. This allows advertisers to determine with greater accuracy the composition of the audience they reach. Cookies may also be used to control the delivery of a series of merchandise offers to a web browser, and to limit the number of times a web browser receives any one advertisement. We also may use Internet browsing and online purchase data associated with an anonymous identifier to develop a predictive statistical user profile of the end user’s needs and interests. We reserve the right to retain all ad delivery and reporting data as long as may be reasonably necessary for accounting and audit purposes.

There are two classes of Cookies based on how long they remain on your system: (i) “Session Cookies,” which are used only during your visit to the Sites and/or our domains and are erased once you close your browser, and (ii) “Persistent Cookies,” which remain on your browser for 5 years from your last visit to the Sites and/or domains and enable us to remember you on subsequent visits to the Sites and/or domains and provide more relevant content to you on such Sites.

A useful resource on understanding Cookies may be found at http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

Sharing your information

Information Shared by Alvenda

Alvenda does not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to any third parties as part of our business practices.

Alvenda will only share your Information for the limited purposes provided for in this Privacy Policy. This may include sharing Information (1) to enable third party service providers to assist or facilitate in the services we provide to our clients; (2) to comply with applicable laws and regulations and to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful requests for information received by us, whether or not a response is required by applicable law; (3) to enforce our terms of use and other agreements or to protect our rights; (4) to protect the safety of members of the public and users of the service; (5) with vendors, administrative service providers, technology providers, and carefully selected partners for data validation, enhancement, information verification and suppression services; or (6) for any other purpose for which you provide consent. While Alvenda strongly encourages clients and partners to adopt responsible approaches to online marketing, Alvenda is not responsible for the information practices of such clients and partners. The collection, use, and disclosure of information by clients and partners are subject to their respective privacy policies, which may differ from this Privacy Policy.

In the event that Alvenda is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information we have collected from you as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights generally, we may not be able to control how your information is treated, transferred, or used.

Information Collected by Third Party Sites

Please be aware that the websites of our advertiser and publisher clients as well as the websites on which we place merchandise offers or any third party websites linked to one of our sites also may collect information from you. Such information may include non-personally identifiable information through the use of cookies and other technology and any personally identifiable information you may choose to give in registering and transacting with such website. Although we choose our business partners and clients carefully, Alvenda is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites operated by such third parties. You should check the applicable privacy policies of such websites you visit to determine how they handle any information they collect from you.

Your Choices

You will have the option of blocking the use of Cookies from Alvenda.com and Alvenda.net by changing a setting in your Internet browser. Please see your browser supplier’s website for details on how to do this.

Processing and storing your data

Security

The security of your personally identifiable information is very important to us. In our efforts to protect your online transactions, we use a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to strongly encrypt your personally identifiable information and protect against unauthorized use. If your browser is capable of SSL (and most are), your personally identifiable information will be automatically encrypted, or encoded, before it is sent to our merchants for whom we provide storefront services. We have also obtained a digital certificate from Verisign, Inc., a leading provider of Internet trust services, for the use of our online storefront services and providing validation that the data transfers done as securely as possible.

We also have implemented an information security and privacy program within Alvenda that includes policies for which all personnel must follow and using technologies and practices that support industry and international information security standards.

Ultimately, your personally identifiable information is protected by the practices you use to make online purchases. Be sure to keep your online confidential. No Customer Service Associate or any other representative of Alvenda will ever ask you for your password. The confidentiality of your password is yours to protect. When we do have to collect your most sensitive personal information to allow you to make online purchases through our storefronts, such as credit card number, we will protect its confidentiality through information security practices and technologies, have policies and procedures in place to prohibit its unlawful disclosure, and limit access to authorized personnel only.

Changes

As the standards governing Internet privacy and information security continue to evolve, Alvenda may find it appropriate or necessary to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. As a result, we reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and shall post such changes on the Website. Our Website will state the date the Privacy Policy was last updated. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you use this Website to make sure you understand how your information will be used.

Children’s Privacy

Alvenda is very sensitive to the issue of the privacy rights of children. Alvenda websites are neither developed for, nor directed at, children. Each of Alvenda’s merchant clients determines the verbiage used on Alvenda Online Storefronts. Alvenda makes every effort to ensure each merchant appropriately complies to children’s privacy laws and regulations, but ultimately the merchants are responsible for protection and appropriately using the PII provided to them through customers purchases.
